Decent dart board for the money

This is a pretty decent soft tip dart board. I figured the best way to review this is do a pros/cons list:

Pros

  • The board accepts darts very well. I've had almost no bounce outs after several hours of play. Darts are also reasonable easy to remove (twist clockwise and pull).
  • There are 30 pre-programed games to chose from and the instruction book has instructions for each game.
  • The battery compartment is in the front! I can't state how handy this is. I won't have to remove the board from the wall to install new batteries. Imagine that.
  • The board has slots (3 on each side) to hold 2 sets of darts, plus a tray in the front to store extra tips
  • The scoreboard is easy to read.

Cons:

  • Installation hardware is hit and miss. There are 2 installation options. One option is to install 2 screws into the wall and then hang the board from the back on the 2 screws (included). The other option is there are 4 screw holes that are accessed from the front of the board. You simply screw in the dart board through all 4 holes while holding the board on the wall (again screws are included). This would work good if installing into wood or studs, but I was going straight into drywall, so I needed to use drywall anchors and option 1. Although the board came with the 2 screws and anchors, the anchors were WAY too small for the screws. Luckily I had my own screws and anchors, and the screw heads were the right size to hang the board. So if you're using the back mounting option you're going to need your own screws and drywall anchors. Per the instructions, the screw head needs to be between 5/16 and 3/8 to fit into the holes in the back of the board.
  • The board makes a audible comment on every dart. This is a bit annoying during a game of cricket. So I miss the 20 and hit a 5, I don't need it to make some comment that I missed. I do like that it will say "double" or "triple" when hitting those though. There is no way to turn off the sounds, you can only adjust the volume. Turning off the sound would be a nice option.
  • The darts that come with this board are a joke. Way too light weight to be accurate at all. Do yourself a favor and get a couple sets of real competition darts!

Overall a decent mid-range dart board for the price. Sure there are better boards, but you'll pay more for them, so if this is in your price range I'd say it's a good buy.
